Special Events
We try and try to free ourselves from frustration and dissatisfaction, yet our discomfort in this life never seems to cease. Don't give up! Freedom does exist, we need only turn our attention to the true obstacles to freedom, which are within each of us. Doing this is a choice and no one can force us to develop the warm heart, poise, clarity and wisdom we need to feel free.
On this day, we will look at Buddha's suggested methods for making this choice and moving toward a sturdy, sublime and sustained experience of happiness which we may then share with those around us.
This lighthearted, compelling talk will include guided meditations and an opportunity to ask questions.

About the Retreat:
The heart of Buddhist practice is to develop pure, unconditional love and compassion for all living beings. Buddha's Lojong ("Training the mind") teachings show us how to do exactly this. They are practical and inspiring instructions which reveal how to solve both our own and others' problems. This retreat will be a follow-up to the teachings given by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso at the 2008 Summer Festival in England.
