Northern California Buddhist Centers
There are five Kadampa Buddhist Centers in Northern California. They and their branches offer a variety of meditation classes throughout the region. You can find the class nearest you by using the links on the left.
Founded in San Francisco in 1990, Saraha Center was the first Center of Kadampa Buddhism to be established in North America. It has branches in downtown San Francisco and the Haight and Castro districts of San Francisco. The main Temple is located in the Mission and hosts a range of meditation classes.
Mahakaruna Center was opened in 2001 in Petaluma and has branches in Arcata, Healdsburg, Napa, Reno (Nevada), Rohnert Park, Sacramento, Sonoma, Stockton and Truckee. The Center has its own website.
Dzalandhara Center was opened in 1998 in Berkeley and has branches in Hayward, Walnut Creek and Fremont.
Duldzin Dragpa Center was opened in the early 1990's in San Jose and has a branch in Palo Alto and Los Gatos.
Dewikoti Center was re-opened in 2005 in Marin and has a branch in Corte Madera.
